Marseille hands over TMA for over 70 new technologies based applications to Bull

New developments to be handled by Bull’s Services Center in Marseille using its NovaForge software development platform

The regional capital of the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region and the headquarters of the Bouches-du-Rhône département, Marseille is France’s 2nd largest city in terms of population. With a strong commitment to new technologies, the city authorities in Marseille have chosen to develop their business applications using Open Source and client/server, Web and n-tier technologies.

Against this backdrop, the City has chosen Bull to deliver third-party application maintenance (TMA) for more than 70 applications, including regular updating and corrective maintenance on the one hand, and new developments based on individual purchase orders on the other.

While these maintenance services are to be delivered at the customer’s site, in order to meet the customer’s requirements for very rapid response and to facilitate communication between teams, potential new projects will be based at Bull’s Marseille Services Center, using the NovaForgeTM software development platform. This platform, which is based on forge technologies, will ensure that Marseille reaps all the benefits of an industrial-scale approach to software development in Java/J2EE.
