SuperComputing 2009 - Portland (USA), November 14-20

SC09 returns to Portland, Oregon for its 21st annual conference. GS Days 2009 – “Convincing people without constraining them” - Issy-les-Moulineaux, 1 December 2009

The French-speaking security event known as GS Days will be held on 1 December at the Palais des Arts et des Congrès in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, focusing on the theme of “Convincing people without constraining them”. The aim is to bring together some 500 security experts for a series of demonstrations and seminars, focusing on a number of organizational and technical issues.

Our security experts will be delighted to welcome you to the Bull stand, where they will be able to show you our TrustWay® solutions, which are designed to ensure data integrity and confidentiality and to protect sensitive networks, including the TrustWay VPN, TrustWay HSM box and TrustWay Crypto PCI, the secure TrustWay PPS USB device and globull™.

JONAs Day 5.1 - Grenoble,December, 1st

JOnAS, the OW2 open source application server with its LGPL license provides a right cost and comprehensive alternative for the critical services delivery in the enterprise information system. The JOnAS 5.1 release relies on a native OSGi architecture bringing the expected modularity and dynamicity in the lightweight and adaptable SOA platform. JavaEE5 standard ensures the applications portability and interoperability while greatly simplifying the development. The operational management tools such as clustering or monitoring provide all the mechanisms required in a production environment.
The seminar will enable you to discover new features of this release with presentations and demonstrations conducted by the core development team of the open source projects.

20th Machine Evaluation Workshop - Holiday Inn Runcorn/UK, 1-2 December 2009

The forthcoming 2009 Daresbury Machine Evaluation Workshop will be held on 1 and 2 December as part of the EPSRC's Distributed Computing Support Programme.

This Workshop is now established as a leading national event dedicated to distributed high performance scientific computing. The principle objective is to encourage close contacts between the research communities from the Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Materials Programs of EPSRC and the major vendors of workstations, software and peripherals.

The workshop includes a rich program of technical vendor presentations, user presentations, break-out sessions dedicated to HPC in Industry, Visualisation Services and High Performance Computing, Procurement, Open-Source Alternatives to Commercial Software, Real Life Applications of GPUs.

Important components of the workshop include the availability of systems for benchmarking evaluation purposes, plus the exhibition itself. Vendors are providing Internet access to these systems prior to the event, and the availability of products on the day will help delegates evaluate the machines.

Bull is a sponsor of the 20th MEW, and will provide access to its most recent bullx blade system. Bull HPC expert Denis Gutfreund will make a presentation entitled “I/Os in HPC, a practical case study”.

Bull Training - Green IT: a real necessity - Paris, Friday 4 December

Friday 4 December, Claude Marson, Consultant and Deputy Director of IT events firm Synthèse Informatique and seminar leader for the 'Computing trends' seminar, will be chairing a new seminar on "Green IT: a real necessity", at our Espace Italie/Paris premises.
