PETEX 2010 - London/Olympia - 23-25 November

Bull's Extreme Computing BU will be exhibiting at the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain's biennial conference and exhibition, PETEX 2010, which is taking place in Earls Court 2, Warwick Street, London, from November 23 to 25.

This event attracts over 2400 delegates drawn from oil companies, oilfield service companies, consultancies and technology vendors involved in oil exploration in the North Sea and Atlantic Margin. Although primarily from the UK, there will also be a significant presence from staff based in Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Ireland, Canada, Russia, the Middle East and the United States.

Bull's booth, located at G36, will be showing the bullx B500 blade chassis and a powerful Bull visualization server, configured with NVIDIA Quadro 6000 3D graphics and C2050 GPU cards, and showing demonstrations of ffA's SEA3D, a leading OpenGL 3D seismic interpretation application.

Bull will also be publicising the recently-announced 'extreme factory' portal solution for PaaS (Platform-As-A Service) and SaaS (Software-As-A-Service). This is used in conjunction with Bull's accelerated server infrastructure to give oil and gas customers remote access to geoscience data and applications located in a central HPC server hub, either as an external service, or as part of an internal HPC applications delivery service, which includes interactive OpenGL applications from leading ISVs.

Bull will be joined by technology partners NVIDIA, CAPS and ffA, to show some of the most advanced server technology available to geoscientists to increase their productivity, in finding and developing commercial hydrocarbon accumulations in the subsurface.
