Investment protection of existing switching infrastructure |
|
Pass-thru modules are I/O options that can be used for direct connections of blade ports to external infrastructure devices such as network switches. The pass-thru module is almost like a traditional network patch-panel it routes internal blade ports to outside the Bull Blade Chassis. The ICPM provides a network connection that enables the blade servers in any bull Blade Chassis to connect to an existing network infrastructure. No configuration of the copper pass-thru module is required. The ICPM allows customers who have existing external gigabit Ethernet switch ports available to utilize those ports.
The ICPM allows customers with existing ports to avoid purchasing additional integrated gigabit Ethernet switch ports when they are not needed, providing flexible expansion capabilities for the future. |
Reliability and investment protection |
|
Performance, reliability, and expansion capabilities were key considerations in the design of the copper pass-thru module. These design features make it possible for companies to customize their system hardware to meet the needs today, while providing expansion for the future. Moreover the iCPM is automatically adapting to standard network speeds up to 1Gb/s, assuring an investment protection in the existing LAN network, while providing scalability for future enhancements. |
