Bull blade servers can now be connected in a cost efficient way to external SAS storage either for boot or data purposes. With an external SAS storage, it can provide boot, or data solutions. The SAS connectivity module is the cornerstone to provide a flexible, easy to manage IT infrastructure. It provides the availability, managability and robustness to run office-automation, Citrix, file-print services, mesaging, ERP and databases for SMB or remote officies.

	Bull blade servers can now be connected in a cost efficient way to external SAS storage either for boot or data purposes. The SAS Connectivity Module integrates into the Bull Blade Chassis, and provides reduces cabling and centralizes Storage management. Currently, the SAS Connectivity Module, can be used with Bull Blade Chassis (Standard and Enterprise)to provide connectivity to an external SAS storage boot and data disk system. Management is done through the web based Chassis Management Module, integrated into NovaScale Master Management Suite for Blade Series and based on Secure Simple network management protocol (SNMP).

	Uptime and availability are key focus areas for Bull Blade Series and have been since its inception. Bull Blade Series is designed to help minimize failure and keep your applications running. According to industry studies, one of the most common areas of failure is the mechanical disk. If a disk or boot partition is unique to a particular blade, it leads to a less flexible architecture. A better approach is to consolidate the Operating System image for several Bull Blade Chassis to an external SAS storage, which can be used to off-load the boot function from the blade server.
