Intel Cluster Ready: guaranteed application mobility

For many years, Bull has worked closely with Intel in the area of supercomputing clusters, to design clusters that get the most out of Intel® processors. As part of this long-term cooperation, Intel recently certified Bull NovaScale clusters based on BAS 5 for Xeon (Bull Advanced Server) as "Intel Cluster Ready".

The Intel® Cluster Ready program is a voluntary specification-compliance program aimed at ensuring hardware/software compatibility and interoperability for clusters built with Intel components. The program specifies a common basis for clusters, which ensures that certified ISV applications can reliably run on any certified cluster; conversely, a certified cluster will support multiple Intel® Cluster Ready ISV applications.

This means that Bull customers can purchase a certified Bull BAS 5 for Xeon based NovaScale cluster with the confidence that any certified ISV application or certified component has been qualified on this computing environment and will work straight out of the box.

For years, Bull has been dedicated to providing a complete, integrated and validated software environment for its Linux-based clusters: the Bull Advanced Server (BAS) suite.  The "Intel Cluster Ready" certification clearly validates this concept.

Bull Advanced Server for Xeon is a robust and efficient solution that delivers total cluster management. It addresses each step of the cluster lifecycle: installation and software deployment, monitoring and fault handling, cluster optimization and expansion, and provides a comprehensive development environment.
BAS for Xeon federates the very best of Open Source components, complemented by leading software packages from well-known Independent Software Vendors, and gives them a consistent view of the whole HPC cluster through a common database. All components have been fully tested and integrated within BAS for Xeon, and are naturally supported by Bull.

More information on the Intel Cluster Ready initiative is available on the Intel website.
