Extreme Computing competence centre

Europe's largest team of experts

Capitalizing on our experience on pioneering projects, Bull’s Extreme Computing Competence Centre has developed a very strong skill-base that enables us to offer high-level services, and is established as a leading facility in Europe. Our Extreme Computing specialists provide expert-to-expert support as part of customer projects:

  • Expertise in choosing the most appropriate, high-performance architectures to match user needs
  • Expertise in optimizing user applications to ensure that they fully exploit the available power
  • High-level skills relating to Linux and its support
  • In-depth knowledge of the Open Source software that forms an integral part of Bull’s Extreme Computing offering
  • Close proximity to Bull experts - the Competence Centre, located in the French Alps, which greatly facilitates exchanges with European customers.

An extensive experience in partnerships with research consortia and customers

Bull is playing an active role in many French and European research consortia to develop the intensive computing technologies of tomorrow. This is a major opportunity for Bull to exchange with advanced Extreme Computing users and understand the expectations of the HPC community.

Bull is also keen to develop partnerships and knowledge transfer with customers, for the mutual benefit of both partners:

  • Bull has a long-standing co-operation agreement with the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf, covering the areas of visualization technologies, software components and cluster technologies. More information
  • Bull and Cardiff University have created a joint “Centre of Excellence” to promote the use of Extreme Computing. More information
  • Bull and the CEA collaborate to design a petaflops-scale supercomputer. More information
