LASCOT project

The LASCOT project is part of the EUREKA/ITEA initiative. The Information Technology European Advancement (ITEA) program for research and development in middleware has been jointly promoted by the Public Authorities of all the European Members States and some large European industrial companies. The Consortium, led by Bull, includes large industrial companies, SME’s (Small and Medium Enterprises) and Universities. The project started in 2003 and will run for 2 years.

The goal of the LASCOT project is to define, develop and demonstrate a distributed Collaborative Decision Support Technology for future cyber-enterprise in the global world wide economy.

LASCOT project will

  • Give access to traditional information systems and to Web data;
  • Enable situation assessment, and provide decision support facilities as well as simulation and validation facilities to support business decisions;
  • Enhance the actual security tools to cope with the project goals;
  • Make use of visualisation technology for critical tasks such as decision-making and Knowledge Management;
  • Produce an on line learning application to facilitate the embedding of the platform, by the users.
