Bull announces the integration of Quad-Core IntelŽ XeonŽ E5310 & E5320 processors, code named "Clovertown" on two-socket NovaScale Universal servers.
"Intel quad-core processors, with their high unit power and energy efficiency have a major impact on both the evolution of IT infrastructures and the implementation of new architectures. Bull's teams will make the most of these improvements in order to build even more efficient infrastructures at a lower cost for the benefit of our customers", declared Pierre Duval, Director of the NovaScale Business Unit of Bull.

A doubled performance per watt means more computing power with less servers and thereby lower heat dissipation and power consumption in the Data Center, leading to significant infrastructure cost savings.

The embedded virtualisation technology of IntelŽ XeonŽ processors delivers optimized support of virtual machines. With this technology combined with the virtualisation software solutions on NovaScale Universal servers and with NovaScale Master software suite, Bull's new platforms are perfectly adapted to consolidation in the Data Center.

Quad-Core IntelŽ XeonŽ processors feature clock speeds ranging from 1.60GHz to 2.66 GHz, with a Front Side Bus (FSB) from 1066MHz to 1333MHz and 8 MB cache.
