NovaScale® 4040 is Bull’s first server based on the latest generation of the Intel ® Itanium ® 2 processors. It provides the optimum performance and scalability required by enterprises and organizations in their fast changing environment and their high growth challenge.

NovaScale 4040 is a 4U rack-optimized 4-way SMP (Symmetrical Multi-Processing) server. One or several NovaScale 4040 servers and storage units, all factory pre-cabled and tested can be integrated on demand in a low or high cabinet. NovaScale4040 servers run Windows ® and Linux ®.

High performance

NovaScale 4040 servers, thanks to the 64-bit architecture and addressability provide the capability to scan in-memory large databases, thus drastically increasing the performance. In addition, the use of 64-bit addressing is a great step forward to manage large data sets in Business Intelligence, ERP and SCM as well as data-intensive applications, since it enables much faster data processing.
The EPIC (Explicitly Parallel Instruction Computing) technology – provides faster processing of complex instructions and faster floating-point processing to address the requirements of enterprise and technical workloads.

High scalability for advanced investment protection

NovaScale 4040 is easily scalable from one to four processors and can be clusterized to meet the requirements of High Performance Computing and e-enterprise applications. It offers extended investment protection by supporting future generations of the Intel ® Itanium ® 2 processor family.
