Year 2000 Readiness Statement

In line with Bull's policy of checking our products to establish whether they are Year 2000 ready the BOS 2.x operating system and DPX/2 hardware platforms have been tested. The DPX/2 hardware was found to be Year 2000 ready.

Due to its end of engineering support status and to limited available skills, the testing of BOS 2.x on DPX/2 platform was limited. At this point of time, the known fixes are packaged in a software upgrade for the BOS 2.00.72 and BOS 2.01.82 which does not cover all products of the BOS 2 offering.

Customers considering the continued use of the BOS 2.x operating system now and beyond Year 2000 should be aware that, as its engineering no longer supports this product, Bull will not necessarily produce updates for new problems identified in the operating system or communication stack. This will be clearly documented in the related maintenance contract changes.

Bull strongly recommend that all customers still using BOS 2.x systems take immediate action to migrate their applications from this environment to a current AIX based UNIX platform. Bull will be happy to assist its customers in this exercise and can offer a range of both products and services to meet customer requirements.
