Note

The dates in the change history only refer to changes in Year 2000 readiness status; we won't update the change history when we introduce purely cosmetic changes to make the catalogue easier to understand. Readiness status may change for a number of reasons:

  • We periodically add status information when we complete readiness testing on existing products or introduce new products
  • We may upgrade readiness status from "not ready" to "ready" when new software releases or patches become available that will allow a previously non-compliant product to function correctly in the new millenium. Remember that for Year-2000-ready products the Version code in the tables generally refers to the earliest version that provides readiness. In some cases, footnotes to the tables provide additional information.
  • It is possible that extended tests may reveal unsuspected Year-2000-related problems in a product that we considered ready, which would oblige us to regress its status to "not ready". We hope that this will only occur only rarely, if ever, and we will systematically indicate explicit reasons for any change of this type.
