Year 2000 Readiness Statement

In line with Bull's policy of checking our products to establish whether they are Year 2000 ready the SPIX and SPART operating systems and DPX/2000 hardware platforms have been tested. The DPX/2000 hardware was found to be Year 2000 ready.

Due to its end of engineering support status and to limited available skills, the testing of SPIX and SPART on DPX/2000 platform was limited. A Year 2000 software upgrade package is available for the operating systems SPIX 31 version 31.03.11, SPART/SPIX 32 version 32.00.15 and SPART/SPIX 33 version 33.00.07. However, it does not cover all products of the SPIX and SPART offering.

Customers considering the continued use of the SPIX and SPART operating systems now and beyond Year 2000 should be aware that, as its engineering no longer supports this product, Bull will not necessarily produce updates for new problems identified in the operating system or communication stack. This will be clearly documented in the related maintenance contract changes.

Bull strongly recommend that all customers still using SPIX and SPART systems take immediate action to migrate their applications from this environment to a current AIX based UNIX platform. Bull will be happy to assist its customers in this exercise and can offer a range of both products and services to meet customer requirements.
