New Jersey signs $2.23 Million Contract Renewal for Disaster Recovery Service

The State of New Jersey Office of Information Technology (OIT) has signed a 3-year contract renewal with Bull for Disaster Recovery services valued at $2.23 million. OIT, which is New Jersey’s centralized information technology agency, operates a GCOS 8 Olympus II system in support of numerous business applications for the State’s Department of Human Services (DHS), which serves more than one million of New Jersey’s most vulnerable citizens. Mulzer Orders New Bull Escala System

Mulzer Crushed Stone has ordered a new Bull Escala PL460 system with EMC CX3-20 Disk Array Subsystem, Storage Area Network (SAN), new NEO2000 Tape Library, new software and services. The new systems will provide Mulzer with more contemporary platforms and the performance improvements afforded by the new POWER6™ technology available on Bull’s Escala systems. Bull announces dates for Summit 2009

Bull will hold its Summit 2009 Conference on May 5-7, 2009 at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. Summit 2009 will be held at the Pointe Hilton. Spanish Chamber of Deputies chooses Bull to design and implement its high-security wireless network

The Spanish Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of the Spanish parliament) has chosen Bull to design and implement a wireless network linking all its sites. As part of its network infrastructure renovation initiative, the Chamber of Deputies has chosen to install a wireless network so users can access services and applications from any parliamentary site, so enhancing their real mobility. Bull acquires science + computing ag, a leading HPC solutions and services company in Germany, the largest HPC market in Europe
Bull — an expert in open, flexible and secure information systems, solutions and services and a leading player in the IT industry — announced that it is making a major investment in one of its flagship core businesses — High-Performance Computing (HPC) — with the agreement to acquire science + computing ag (s+c), a German company with significant expertise in HPC solutions and services, particularly for major clients in the automotive and aeronautical and related industries. This acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Bull and CEA sign a collaboration contract for the design and acquisition of a Petaflop-scale supercomputer that will process One Million Billion Operations per Second. Petaflop-scale technologies have strategic importance not only for university research but also for industry.
